Who we are
DL Tech operates the website dl-tech.tech. For privacy questions we are the controller of personal data described on this page. Write to privacy@dl-tech.tech.
This policy is written for visitors, prospective clients, and people who apply to work with us. If you become a client, the statement of work and any data-processing terms we sign with you govern project data. Those terms prevail if they differ from this page.
What this covers
This policy covers personal data collected through dl-tech.tech and through email sent to the addresses we publish here. It does not cover third-party sites we link to. Those sites have their own policies.
Data we collect
Information you send us
- Project briefs: your name, email address, company, budget range, and the message you write. The form on this site does not store that information on our servers. It opens your email application addressed to hello@dl-tech.tech. From that point we receive whatever you choose to send.
- Other email: anything you include when you write to hello@dl-tech.tech, careers@dl-tech.tech, legal@dl-tech.tech, or privacy@dl-tech.tech.
- Career applications: your contact details, the note you send, and the work samples you attach.
Technical data
When the site is hosted, the hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, date and time, the page requested, and the browser user agent. We use those logs to keep the site available and to investigate abuse. We do not use them to build marketing profiles.
A preference on your device
If you dismiss the cookie note, the site stores one value in your browser’s local storage under the key dltech-notice. It remembers that you have seen the note. Details are in the cookie policy.
Why we use it
- To answer enquiries and prepare a proposal. The legal basis is steps taken at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To consider applications. The legal basis is steps toward a possible employment or contractor relationship, and our legitimate interest in hiring.
- To run and protect the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a reliable, secure site.
- To meet legal duties, such as responding to a lawful request or keeping records we are required to keep. The legal basis is a legal obligation.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use this website for advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become a project: up to 24 months, so we can find the conversation if you write again.
- Client records: for the life of the engagement and for the period we must keep invoices and related correspondence under tax and commercial law.
- Applications: up to 12 months after the role closes, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we are required to keep them longer. If we hire you, relevant records move into the employment or contractor file.
- Server logs: for the period set by the hosting provider, typically a short operational window.
- The cookie-note preference: until you clear site data for dl-tech.tech.
Who we share it with
We share personal data with service providers who process it on our instructions: the provider that hosts dl-tech.tech, and the provider that hosts our email. They may only use the data to deliver those services.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if it is needed to protect our rights, our clients, or other people. We do not pass enquiry or applicant data to advertisers.
Transfers
We aim to keep website and email processing in the European Economic Area. If a provider processes data elsewhere, we rely on an approved transfer tool, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, where the law requires one.
Your rights
If the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, you can ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal data about you, and for a copy of it;
- correct data that is inaccurate;
- delete data, or restrict how we use it, where the law allows;
- receive data you provided, in a portable format, where the law gives that right;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent, where we rely on consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
Send requests to privacy@dl-tech.tech. We may need to confirm it is you. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence, your place of work, or the country where we are established. You do not have to complain to an authority before you write to us.
Children
This website is aimed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe we have, write to privacy@dl-tech.tech and we will delete it.
Security
We limit access to mailboxes and project files to people who need them for the work. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Please avoid sending passwords, payment card numbers, or special-category data (such as health information) in a website enquiry.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page. Where a change materially affects how we use data we already hold, we will take any extra step the law requires.
